Newly fabricated Command Control Module for our SQS-23 Sonar in CIC! Al Lundgren and his son completely replicated the missing unit using photos from our sister ship USS Steinaker DD863. The arrival and installation of our restored SPA-4 Radar Repeater from our Swansea Radar Repeater Restoration Shop.
Bob Ledux and his crew brought the unit back to the ship, and with a mix of NAPS and volunteers, installed it in CIC. As some might think, museum ships are supposed to be "dead" and not have working items-- but we don't believe in that. When I asked Bob what his team plans to do now that all the transportable units have gone to his shop, He merely states "Where are the Manuals for the SPA-8s?". We love that attitude.
